This is a short hike, as it takes only about 15 to 20 minutes to reach the summit. But don’t let the duration fool you as it climbs over 450 feet with an average grade of 20%.

Start the hike at the blue juice bar which is located along the main road in town between Mira Mar and Garcia’s Rentals. Take the path to left of the bar where you will wind through homes and quickly start climbing. There is little to no warm up time before you hit some steep sections.

About five to ten minutes into the hike (about .1 mile), you’ll come to an intersection where one path goes off to the right following the water lines and the other path to the left. The path to the right winds around the valley and eventually leads to the top of the town waterfall (hike details posted soon).

Take the path to the left and head uphill. Much of your time will be spent on a path which has been washed out by water runoff over the years. The dry dirt and leaves can be quite slippery (especially going down hill) so proceed cautiously.

Depending upon your pace, in about 10 more minutes you’ll reach the summit clearing. Rest in the shade under the blue tent, drink some water, and enjoy the views of the town and Banderas Bay.
